Individual piano and guitar lessons
I love teaching students of all ages, child through adult, to play piano and guitar. Being able to play music has allowed me to have many amazing opportunities in my life and has brought me a great deal of joy. My goal is for my students to have the same. I strive to make my music lessons a positive, encouraging, and relaxed experience. Individual lessons are tailored to each student’s interests, needs, and goals.

Kids rock band
This is a fun and highly motivating program in which students learn to play a rock band instrument in a band setting. The focus is on playing in a group and developing the interpersonal and musical skills needed for a successful band. Students choose between keyboard, guitar, bass, drums, or singing. Rock band meets weekly for 45-50 minutes. No previous experience is needed and instruments are provided for use at band practices. Come rock out!

Music production and songwriting lessons
Do you or your child want to write songs? Make your own lofi beats to chill to? These lessons are tailored to each student and can include music theory, recording techniques, production, mixing, mastering, and everything in-between. The studio uses Ableton Live but the techniques translate to most DAWs.

About me
I was born and raised in Juneau. I have a Masters of Arts in Education from the University of Alaska. I am certified to teach kindergarten through 8^th grade and I taught elementary music at Mendenhall River Community School in the Juneau school district from 2006-2017.

I started playing piano at age seven (thanks Mrs. Anderson!) and guitar since 2005. I’ve taught private piano and guitar lessons for ten years through my own studio Nagoonberries Music, as adjunct faculty at the University of Alaska, and with Thrush Hill Music.

I produce pop and rock music as Blue Nagoon. I’ve played in and directed many groups and accompanied a variety of artists in Juneau. I play in local pop/rock supergroup Susu and the Prophets.
